Time for a Seafood week edition of #TooGoodToEat! And we wouldn't be a London based station if we didn't review some good old fashioned fish and chips now would we? This week, we went down to Hook Camden to try their dreamy looking fish and chips and find out is they taste as good as they look...
Taste: ★★★★1/2 We are giving this dish a high rating for many reasons! The chips were absolutely brilliant; perfectly crispy with a good skin-on ration and seasoned to perfection. The fish is coated and seasoned evenly around and fried to achieve the desired crunch. You can taste how fresh the fish and it has a melt-in-the-mouth consistency. It comes with a classic tartar sauce, but we also ordered the side of 6 dipping sauces. Each one is complex in flavor while not being heavy and pairs well with the fish and the chips!
Hook has mastered a modern spin on an old classic. They've replaced the standard newspaper with a more stylish branded paper, and swapped out a wire basket for a branded wooden box. As it's set down in front of you, you are immediately captivated by the crispy fish and the hearty serving of fries. They have put a lot of thought into this dish and it shows in how it looks, but more importantly, in how it tastes.
